WHAT WAS JAPANS APPROACH TO THE WAR?
In early 1942 during the Second World War, Japan had the military capability while Australia lacked in defenses. Japan had never actually planned an invasion but the fear of one led Australia to form a close alliance with United States to protect itself.
The Japanese came up with a strategy of isolating Australia from the United States by traveling through the South Pacific. The Japanese Navy proposed an invasion of Northern Australia in December 1941. Japan had a big impact on Australia. If it wasn't for the U.S, Australia would have been invaded by Japan and we would have been speaking Japanese.
